Win-Win with Stock Donations!
You can make an unrestricted donation (thereby avoiding paying capital gains taxes) directly to Mosaic Harmony, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. This option is good for the giver, as well as for the organization! The MoHa Treasurer can provide more information about the process for donating stocks to MoHa. Contact the Treasurer at treasurer@mosaicharmony.org.
Donate with an IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)
The U.S. tax code allows individuals age 70½ and above to make charitable gifts directly from a traditional IRA account to charity without incurring federal income tax on the withdrawal. If you authorize the administrator of your IRA to transfer a donation directly to Mosaic Harmony, the amount donated will not be subject to federal tax and will be counted toward your annual minimum required distribution. To have an amount in your IRA contributed to Mosaic Harmony, please contact your IRA provider to determine the proper procedures. You will need to know Mosaic Harmony’s employer identification number (i.e., tax ID), which is 35-2392775, and our mailing address (2961A Hunter Mill Road #611, Oakton, VA 22124). Mosaic Harmony is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Currently, we subsist on donations from members and supporters, grants, as well as fundraising concerts. This support enables us to perform for 10-12 audiences each year. Of course, we’d love to be able to do more – to share our message with more and larger audiences, not just in the Washington metropolitan region, but around the country and around the world.
